If I Only Wear One Piece Of Jewelry…

Oct 21, 2009

If you’re in the jewelry business, you quickly find that your friends are more than eager to tap into your insider advice. Questions range anywhere from, “Will this still be in style in a few months?”, to “What does the .925 stamp on silver jewelry actually mean?” And while I gladly entertain and answer all their questions, I do have a favorite. I love, love, love when someone asks, “If I only wear one piece of jewelry, what should it be?” This question is so exciting because the answer is different for everyone, and I get to go on a hunt in my own store to find the one piece that just screams their style and unique personality to me. For fun, I went on a hunt for three of my favorite ladies that haven’t asked in awhile. But when they do, I’ll be ready! Or maybe I’ll just direct them to this post. I’ve included the results and reasons below – let me know what you think. And if you have a signature piece, we’d love to hear about it and what makes it so ‘you’! :)

For Leigh Anne – The Coral Cocktail Ring

Leigh Anne has a wide variety of places to be in one day, and can easily have a tight schedule that takes her straight from the office to a fancy restaurant with no time to change. Her wardrobe has to multi-task well, as does her jewelry, and I can’t imagine a single outfit this ring wouldn’t look amazing with, from dark denim jeans and a tee to a flirty dress and sky-high heels. It is both simply styled and unstoppably bold, with a rich, saturated color that will work wonderfully with her olive skin tone.

For Lolicia – Sterling Silver Faux Pearl Earrings

There’s no doubt that Lolicia’s ‘one piece’ would have to be pearls. She finds a way to work them into almost every outfit, with earrings and necklaces set to shine against her mahogany hair. This particular set of pearl earrings highlights the classic pearl center beautifully with a youthful, CZ-encrusted flower design. Loving sophisticated styling, and being in her early-twenties, I think Lolicia would appreciate how perfectly these combine a timeless style with a fresh, young feel.

For Michelle – The Stainless Steel Heart Charm Bracelet

Do you have one of those friends who constantly plays with things, whether it’s balling up the paper from their straw and batting it around the table, or tapping a pencil in tune to the music? I have one of those friends too, and it’s Michelle. This charm bracelet would not only give her a sturdy piece of jewelry that could handle her playing with it, but it’s also really unique and pretty. And it would complement her slightly dressier style well while adding a touch of fun!

My signature piece would be the pearl earrings also. I feel pearls are always appropriate.
